Thanks, Teenieleek. I am, of course, happy that you found the third one yourself. I initially wondered how you could have overlooked that one, then reminded myself of how much overlooking and missing I have done over the years!

It took me a while to find the correct shape, though It is a help that only real words are left in the final grid.
I marvel that setters can construct such puzzles, even with software.

I am totally bamboozled! I have a full grid and absolutely no understanding of what to do next. A nudge please.

“Start at the very beginning, it’s a very good place to start…”

….and proceed either vertically or horizontally. Then take it from there.

Sybila, I'd hoped my 'horizon' hint would help, but when that obviously wasn't enough, I couldn't come up with anything else - sorry!

This was going well until I hit a brick wall at the last step. After too much grid staring I still can’t see the required shape.
I’ve written the first two words of the three word phrase in the bottom row which gave real words except for 27 down and assumed I would need to erase these same letters, in a thematic shape, from the rest of the grid. I’m now seriously doubting this.
Am I on the right track? A small nudge would be greatly appreciated.

I too am stuck finding the shape.

I’m completely stuck on this, despite having a filled grid. I can find one (R2 and 5) thrilling thing which might give one The Shivers, but no other similar excitement appears. Well, not to me anyway. Does the 18 cell 3 word thing appear in the grid?
The supposedly helpful hints have not advanced me one bit, alas, but thanks for trying!
