Good fun I thought. Neat construction and if it was a “team” effort then the clues achieved a good level of consistency.

Guardian solvers will note the imminent approach of another significant 6,37 which no doubt will be marked somehow.

I seem to recall that one of the Speccie compilers is a mathematician by trade. There have certainly been puzzles requiring a tad of knowledge of that area before.

well, I have the grid completed but have no mathematical ability to solve the calculation - am I dealing with 101010111110? And why is 8d "shell" - can't find any reference that works for that ...
