Good day. A good puzzle today but I'm not finished yet.

Hints welcome for 12a and 10d.

10d could be related to the leaning one, but I don't see how that would work.

12a my mind is blank.

I note that the clue numbers appear in the grid at last, well done The Observer.

Wishing you all a good day.

Hi Yevrah,
10d is a reversal. Tower is the definition.
12a is a homophone. Take control of is the definition.

And now got 10d.

Thanks jono.

Both of those are classic pdms for me.

Enjoyed this week's.

Some amusing clues 18d, 21d.

CoD 2d.

Indeed, sometimes taking a break and doing something completely different can yield a pdm.

I was struggling with a clue recently so decided to pop to the supermarket to pick up a few things. Sure enough, just as I was dropping a bag of pasta into my basket, the solution came to me…

Literally, a “penne[i/] drop moment”!

My only problem was 19d, an obvious “primary” but needed some Googling to understand!

Isn't 3d missing a word? The wordplay and answer are obvious enough, but to me the clue itself doesn't make sense - will contain what?
