Got 7d now. I had moved the wrong letter in the original answer to 5a.

For 1a, the e is brought in from 38a. The original answer has a different letter second.

I'm struggling with 1a too. Think the original answer might be marled. Means same as marbled.
Any help with 29d telescope one would be welcome.

29 double def, with the first word a girls name and the rest of the clue describing a flat feature only viewable with a telescope

Just one cell empty, in 34a. There's only three options but I can't make sense of any of them.

It’s yet another tough one. The printed clue loses “nos” (numbers) from the front of a slang word for café, and then the A from 33a replaces the first letter, which moves to the second letter of 35a

I have a full grid and all the necessary highlighting, but could someone PLEASE explain the 622AD clue!

It parses 4,2, Gitto. The first four letters are an old word for something difficult, the last two a famous religious abbreviation

Gitto, in 20d, the first 4 letters are 'a difficult thing' + the initials of a Latin term for '622 AD'
