My weekly “please help” is 8d. I think I can guess the last word. Actually maybe I’m guessing that wrong and it’s throwing me off. Thanks in advance!

Five minutes looking at LOI 12d before the penny dropped. Couldn't help but smile when it finally did, even though the clue's surface is a bit ropey.

LOI and very much COD was the very amusing 12d. Am I right in thinking that the second-to-last letter is "T" and not "M"?

12d is nice, but I've heard it before.
No paywall for me, but I was a bit disconcerted to find a Jumbo (which I never attempt) before this thread suggested there was also a normal.
