Can’t parse 6 - presume Def is 'work', so the usual word fits with the crossers.

Stuck on 14d with all the crossers in, and 100% sure. Guess this must be a GK issue.

Why is the online version suddenly behind an Observer payall tonight? Is there a way around this?

Vessel is def, "It's not a barge" says my pal who lives in one.

I had the vessel as def, and filled it in. I understand the argument. Just haven't got a clue how the rest of the clue works.

Re. Online version. Its weird. Sometimes I can get in, sometimes not. It may be geographic? Or may be due to cookies? Dunno. Try accessing it from a Private window, or different browser you haven't used on that site.

It parses as a 2 letter Latin abbreviation for note around a 5 letter word for a quarrel (see def. 2.1 in Chambers) then 3 letters for grain.
