I have no idea where to start with these clues (amongst many others). Could you throw me some hints please?

8 "plane" is pretty much irrelevant. It's a short spell, followed by an incomplete bad pain.

9 is an awful clue. Even with the crossers, there are more than on answers. In the actual answer, the "post" is an online one.

9a isn’t that bad as “similar” is a quite cleverly concealed definition
