Thanks to swarbrules for hosting and the clips. Much of the material is new to me.

Surprise result. I liked witless's debut entry and expected it to win.
Grateful to chrise, witless, fiery, jono, paul, raffles, aristo, amej and tyke for votes (split between two clues).

I first saw Jour de Fete at my parents' film club when I was about 14. I fell off my chair laughing!

Cheers Swarb for hosting and thanks to Raffles, Paul, Jono and Aristo for the votes, much appreciated
Loved the box sketch but couldn't get Peter Cook either. Hope it was "The Durex Handicap" for the BBC

They once played that sketch in New York when Cook turned up virtually paralytic, and Moore had not only to hop on one leg, but also to hold Cook upright!

Chris

I think he was the finest of fine clowns. Everything looks so natural but must have taken a lot of work. Most would have been content with a simple chase of his bike but he adds that flick of the foot to make his run even funnier.

For those who don't know Tati, may I recommend Monsieur Hulot's Holiday. In particular, painting the canoe, its collapse at sea and the game of table-tennis.
