Stuck on bottom right of the crossword, have Remodel and Resurge but cannot work out why.

Remodel - Off and on, briefly covering fashion style again

Resurge - Merit shown by both sides in dispute beginning to rally.

Worked out it isn't Resurge so can ignore that one 😁

Alternate letters (off and on) of briefly REL go outside MODE (fashion)

They’re both reverse clues:

Remodel = redo → “off and on” (R–D) briefly, covering mod (fashion style), then reversed.

Resurge = re-urge → re (both sides) + urge (merit/impetus), then reversed.

Took me a while too.
