Definitely challenging! I had to reverse engineer several of the TYP clues from the silver entries, guessed at from knowing the theme and using the generally generous supply of crossers.

Me too Jack, even mixing up some of them initially. I thought the first TYP one was cheeky. Easy to solve (if you’d seen the TV series) but it then required another leap. Felt satisfying to complete the puzzle.

Natty969, you can display/show/highlight the nickname only if you change two cells, two cells which are symmetrically disposed.

Very enjoyable. 2 loose ends for me:

Can't see the wordplay in 16a

No idea on the first TYP clue (think it links to first across answer, which I have deduced).

I also reverse engineered most (all?) of the TYP clues from a list of the works. Couldn't get anywhere with any of them before that.

Thanks

16a T)inti(n
1st TYP B + flood (and yes it pairs with the unclued 1a).
