Everyman, thanks.

Phew, was bogged down in SE for eternity.

Not happy with 27a definition. Finally, 25d unlocked the knot.

Then got 27a, 29a, 24d and 23d LOI.

One of those days :-(

20a, 15a top two favs.

Hasn’t 2d got the word “to” missing from it?

Good day everyone.

Am stuck on two four letter clues.

19a A-C-

25d -R-D

I have some ideas but not confident, hints will be much appreciated.

I've not posted here for a while but have been working through these Everymans. Generally finding them a little tougher than in the pre Observer days.

Today's is a good example for me. First run through all the across clues drew a blank. Could not make headway until I had some down clues.

Eventually, very enjoyable. Usual suspects, fun rhyming pair. But stuck on two.

And 25 could be Pitt the Handsome, certainly in his younger days….

FOI: 1a
LOI: 10a ( can’t parse the last two letters)
COD: I liked 8d and 23a, 2d (agree there’s a missing word). 26a made me smile.

Hi Nicola,
The last three letters in 10a are one letter for tense goes inside two letters for outsize.
I also agree about the missing word. It’s the same in the pdf so it most likely an error.
Curious that “Pitt the Elder” has appeared in clues two weeks in a row now!

Morning all.

LOI 21a, I haven't got a clue how it parses but I can only think of one answer from the crossers.

Apart from it being an example of a word in the clue, I can't see how this clue works at all.

Much obliged if someone can put me out of my misery!
