Thanks again to buddy for starting the thread for me, and thank you all who participated. While my daughters are on their way to - you guessed it - to celebrate the older one's 21st birthday, here are your results.

First, my short list:

Paul @3 - "on vacation" seems a very appropriate device for this word

Jono @4 - took me a moment, perhaps because Arbroath is not a familiar name to me, but when I got it, I got a nice chuckle.

Swarb @11 - nice anagram, although factually inaccurate; Florida has Disney World.

Swarb again @18 - I liked manage theme park

Paul @25 - glad you fixed it; 24 indeed doesn't work.

Eider @27 - not too far at all; you should have included Orange Hitler as well

Eider @29 - nice smooth surface, although I would have preferred California over Californian
