Tramp

Impenetrable for me. Taking a break from solving hasn’t had any positive impact on me!

Can I ask for help please?

It's a (notorious) breed of dog. The "lead" is an element

For what it's worth, druh, this is a difficult puzzle. Prize-worthy and tougher than many Prizes IMO. I was "on Brendan's wavelength" and wrote in a lot of solutions, but parsing took a long time.

Good grief, I got setters mixed up. This was Tramp, the previous one Brendan. Neither one easy.

Thank you both.

I’ll mull over 1a later; it’s not jumping out at me.

I tried yesterday’s Brendan as well….not one clue did I solve!

Put IT between the symbol for "lead" and see where that gets you.

Hi redpete
There's a pervasive theme. Does Enigmatist often do themes?

There’s often some added element, Chris. His last puzzle in the prize spot had the “CCL” theme and the one before that had a perimeter Nina.
