I have the answer to this but can anyone explain the parsing.

14a - There's more to come in obligation to make digital advancement? (6)

My answer could cryptically mean 'to (quietly) make digital advancement' but I'm puzzled as to how the first 3 letters come from 'there's more to come in obligation'.

... unless the "obligation" is a gratuity?

Bren, ‘there’s more to come’ is a 3 letter acronym inside 3 letter word for an obligation. I think from what you’ve said you have the correct answer, though I agree the definition doesn’t imply a sense of being quiet.

Thanks Jono,

Obviously only 2 words fit the letter pattern and I saw the 3 letter' continue overleaf' inside 'obligation' but couldn't see (and still can't) what the definition is.

It can only be "to make digital advancement" - but why?

Sorry Jono, I had it right the first time but couldn't make sense of the "there's more to come", but you've explained it perfectly.

Thanks again.

I biffed in the incorrect answer to 9a, as I suspect many did, only to realise my error when encountering 9d.

Overall, I thought this was one of the best Gemelos to date.

I was okay with 9a and suspected it was the 'less obious' word because Chambers specfically says it's used 'to launch'. That, coupled with the obvious origin of the final 6 letters meant I only had to look up the first 3 in Chambers and, lo and behold, it means 'unnumbered works by Beethoven':-)

29a caused me the most trouble. I mean there's only 3 words that fit the letter pattern and one can immediately be dismissed, but with fatigue well and truly having set in I could not for the life of me decide between the other two. One was very similat to a word that refers to a persons ability to move and the second word in the clue is movement, and the other is a legal term which, now I look at it again, matches the definition perfecly but I was fixated only on 'like for like' which didn't exactly jump out at me!

Add to all that the fact that the letters from 'a coin' appear in the answer and it created a perfect storm in my very overtired head 😢
