A final short one:

23 D Go on, eat this. (4)

_ A _ E

I'm thinking DATE, but am not very satisfied. Can anyone come up with something better?

Fare, double definition. See how you get on, see how you fare, and fare= food, stuff you eat

DATE works rather loosely, but it would be better if there were another word between "on" and "eat".

There may be a better answer - I'll wait in hope!

FWIW I put fare, Malone, didn’t love the clue, and moved on. But it’s a direct definition in Chambers, so I’m sure it’s right. Even if there’s something better, it can’t be wrong

Quisling, Bilbow, thanks. I simply stuck in the answer on Sunday, didn't give it much thought then!

Am completely foxed by 2d: Potter's wheels in Medieval country (6).

I think it can only be one possible 'medieval country' (starting and ending A) but I simply cannot parse it; thank you to anyone who maybe able to enlighten me!
