It’s not often these days that I can say I was too young for something, but this time I was. Took some googling to make the connection. The source is very funny. Thanks to Kirsanov.

I believe I have the two words but I fail to see the connection.. am I right in thinking that 29d contains a string of ex. letters?

Hi siralbertvucci, yes 29d has an extra string of letters. The connection between the 2 words won't become apparent until you have the 2 surnames.

siralberyvucci - if you google the two words and the bit of 29dn you should find the connection.

I could help if you gave the clue, crates, but I don’t have the puzzle to hand

Hi crates, I no longer have the puzzle to confirm which words but you're looking for a 2 letter abbreviation for a synonymn of water (first 2 letters of the 4 letter synonym).

Any clues as to the orientation of the shaded cells on the grid? I have scanned it left right and centre with no luck!
