25a Strengths of a flipping politician one secures (9)

I thought politician was MP but my “check/guess” approach means on M or P.

Can I ask for advice please?

Flipping politician here is a three letter abbreviation for a member of a specific political party

I should have said flipping means reverse those three letters which go after A from the clue. Then one letter for one and four letters for secures.
