Yikes. Thank you, amej, geting, tyke, spike, raffles, jono, and geeker. I’m overwhelmed by the multiples (waiting for a comment from spike 🤓). And thanks to fiery of course, for tallying and for the prize.

swarbrules @60: A fiddle convention? Do you play? Was it at Groton Academy?

I never thought Whitey Bulger would turn up in a forum clue!

In the Groton Inn.

A fond memory, after arriving late at night, was seeing a beautiful clapboard church, glowing white in the early morning sun.

Whitey Bulger...I was thinking about a BBC type entry with BULGE but couldn't make anything work...adding the R helped. 🤣

swarbrules: New England does clapboard churches well.
The prep school there is very prestigious, and there’s quite a list of similar ones nearby (a local industry).

Oh yeah, it’s called Groton School. Almost all of the others are academies.

Aristo

I was sitting on the front porch of the Inn, eating a bacon egg and cheese bagel from Dunkin Donuts and listening to a group playing an ad hoc version of Lakes of Ponchartrain.. Since each player took a turn, I suppose it was an example of Bluegrass.
