I have a 6 letter colour for the start of the incorrect letters, but can't make sense of the corresponding correct letters... I seem to have
A N T H A A ...where have i gone wrong??

Those are the ones which together with the other 8 need to be read "in grid order".

Have you solved 2d ?

Great thanks to Vismut for an excellent, challenging and rewarding puzzle. I am particularly pleased by the outcome because the character is an absolute favourite of mine and I have been lucky enough to spend time with them on several occasions and introduced my daughter and grandson to them on my last visit. (that’s quite enough fawning. Ed.

The preamble states "....different words which EACH form....". I have ten spare words implying that I need to find a similar number of synonyms in the grid and yet the incorrect letters give a lower number. Where have I gone wrong?

Opt0, there are definitely fewer than ten - so some of your spares must be wrong.
