Thanks to Apt for an engaging puzzle with a theme that was new to me. One of the newly created words was perhaps a tad unfortunate but didn’t spoil the overall fun. Is there a tenuous connection between the number of the puzzle and the theme, or am I overthinking it?

Ha ha, Jack, have to admit that when I was doing this, I did guess the change to the word in question , so had no problem identifying the row that needed the six changes. Another very enjoyable IQ, thanks to Apt

The puzzle number is four years earlier than the subject from what I found. Much more straightforward than last week’s but enjoyable and the unfortunate letter change made me laugh and say “naughty Apt”.

Finally limped over the line with this. Although my grid is full, and I am 99% certain that it is correct, I still can't solve 16d or 27d - and I know that one of those entries is not the answer to the clue!

Hi Gitto

16d. Is a nymph of Greek mythology, going north, with m for married inside. The resulting male name has an alternative spelling/change, helping to give you the location.

Hope this makes some sense!

Thanks Slugabed - I now feel like a stupid 20d. I was fixated on it being a 6 letter word for an autonomous region without a D in it for 27d. As for the nymph, the answer is obvious when you see it, I just completely misunderstood "arousal" in the clue.

Aye, it took me quite a while to understand what arousal was saying too!

A very enjoyable puzzle with only a couple of problems left for me to require help, please.
5D Dance without a care, not very quietly. I have H.Y ?
And 11A unclued. I think I have the first six letters ok but then I'm left with S.I and my mind is blank!

5d take “very quietly” (pp) from a 5 letter “without a care”, resulting in a rustic dance.

11a is entered “cryptically” - ie as a jumble.
