I thought this was very good, slightly harder than last week perhaps. I tend to prefer it when there’s no thematic device involved.

I’m left with one query which is the reference to “eight” in 26a. The clue is fully checked but I’d still like to understand it.

A byte is 8 bits, and so a megabyte is 8 million of them

5d - Tap indicators after initially letting out Katrine, say (4)

I have the answer and presume the first 2 letters are given by "initially" but how to the last 2 mean "tap indicators"? I've checked Chambers under those initials and, while they do have several meanings, not of them seem to fit.

Think tap as in where the water comes out.
