Hello all,
I’ve found the quote and film but can’t quite make it apply to the six cells.. I don’t want to give too much away but wondering if I could have a nudge with answers for 14ac or 31d… both thematic, I believe.

Hi Natty,

31d - answer is 7 letters. 3 letter verb "to send" + 3 letter "moral to a story" + 1 letter "Spain" - definition of "opportunity for Shakespeare"

The first 4 letters of the answer go after the 3 extra at the end of 29a to give the theme.

Still trying to work out 14a myself.

If it's any help Natty, I'm pretty sure the missing letter goes into 'bacon'.

Yes, then use the resulting word as a verb, not a noun, "trimmed", in the usual abbrev. for "reserve"

Hi Buddy.

14a - I have a G as the final letter which seems at odds with 'trimmed beacon' going inside the 3 letter 'reserve'?

Sorry, posted in haste (post haste?). A 3 letter informal word meaning reserve holds the trimmed beacon

All done except for PDM about the 6 cells., and 14a.

Have film and quote. Still struggling with 14a. Battering trimmed bacon in reserve

I understand about reserve around trimmed beacon - I have ?AP?G in the actial grid

Any chance of another nudge please?

I’ve got a problem with that “p” too because it clashes with my 14ac answer and I can’t see how to resolve it at the moment. At least not in the way 29/31 works.

Indeed teenielink, can't resolve it like 29a./31d. either, I'll think on!
