I have been going through Araucaria's back catalogue. This is the latest one. I have finished but cannot understand the references to 16 6 10.

Any help appreciated.

The date of the puzzle coincides with the birthday of Alan Turing… “birthday boy Alan”.

Actually I think references may be to several different “Alans” who share the same birthday. I’ll look again tomorrow.

2,22 (another Alan ) is also by Plater.

I had him in mind but couldn't connect him to the reference.
