Many thanks BB I had this all horribly wrong.

Only just started, but I'm finding it a bit irritating. The definition for 21a is just wrong, or at least extremely parochial!

The parsing of 4d is eluding me. The definition word is obvious and I figure from previous contributions here that the first word accounts for the first letter. But other than that, I'm stumped.

I agree with the earlier comment that ‘alternatively’ is not the same as ‘alternately’.

Very enjoyable puzzle. Thanks Fed. Some great misleads and different definitions. I have to confess I got a lot of the answers first and then had to ponder for some time on the parsing. Which is why I had the wrong answer to 6d for a while. But then I solved 11a and realised the error of my ways.

Still can't parse all of 11a, 6d or the last part of 19a. But this is still my COD just for the since Norm part. It's the cheers part I can't fathom.

11a is four letters from "golfer was" inside four letter swing.

Rocky, cheers is a two letter word which comes after two letters for since and three letters for Norm. Then there are two letters at the end which are a four letter word for arrived with two letters for company taken away.
That an age to parse!

6d parses as two letters from pose replacing two letters meaning a group of women in eight letter word for wife-swappers.
