I am stuck in a puzzle I’ve done quite well in!

5a Rioter perhaps to replace equipment knocked over (6)

I don’t really know what to with this clue, if anyone could give me some advice please?

“Knocked over” here indicates a reversal. So the solution in reverse may mean “to replace equipment”.

Today’s Guardian puzzle is also very accessible.

It's 2,4 meaning "replace equipment" read backwards to give a rather loose definition of a rioter.
