As always from Gaston a well constructed puzzle. The efforts of Mr Nattrass who taught me the relevant subject at O-Level many years ago were not in vain.

In my case it was Mr Dan - who always wore his academic gown in class and introduced the thematic material with the associated “humorous” version that was already thoroughly dog-eared even in those far off days. A pleasing and gentle EV; something of a relief after a pretty heavy duty Listener.

It was Mr Higgins for me. He also taught Russian and History.

A lovely puzzle by my favourite compiler. Just the standard for me.

Late to this, but it was at Quarry Bank in Liverpool where I learnt from John Colvin. He also taught Lennon ten years previously. I love to name-drop that fact.
