One last plea for help before I give up on this. I had assumed , that the way to treat the answers would be four different ways of ordering the letters of the answers. However having entered most of the answers in the extras group I find that some of the the crossers include letters not found in these answers. Any hint however slight would be welcome.

Work One - if you have the correct title, which begins with J - may explain how to resolve your problem. Answers in this group may not go where you initially expect.

And Work Three (N A D) indicates that the answers are not the entries.

Started this late due to struggling with the listener for 3 days. I was hoping for a slightly easier challenge, but until the pdm's arrived I found it nearly impenetrable. Great puzzle and the Hoover clue had me stumped for far too long, and as for the tiny state, a perfectly fair clue, but I spent hours checking my other entries thinking that I had got something wrong.

I'm still having the same problem Gitto! Hours of grid staring, and still haven't had a PDM for work two (10). I have works 1,3 and 4, and all the extras, plus all the grid fill except for the work two clues.

8. Oscar winner Emma,s not quite out of it (5), The only word that firs is 'Steno', so wondering if that is s one of the "trav?????s', i.e. of Stone.

In terms of actusl entries I have Opus Dei for 22d, and Epochas for 2O, but have no idea why

I must be missing something obvious.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Slugabed, have you tried anagramming your 22 D and 20 entries?

8. Yes, I took it that it must be Emma Stone -from Stoned, out of it, dropping the last letter (not quite).

Thanks Malone - i think I have something now

Epochas cheapos
Download woodland
Entwist twinset

I think I was expecting the meaning of T????????s rather than using it as mere anagram indicator.

Appreciated!
