Boatman has teased a clue pertinent to tomorrow’s puzzle. It’s fairly easy to solve, but if you’d prefer not to see it then look away now…

Architect of small boxes - one may be found in the north end of settlement (5)

Jono, I'm totally confused mate 🤕

I know you said the answer was fairly easy but, alas, not for me. I went to Boatman's puzzle 29,714 to get the answer and, while there are several clues relating to 'architects', this isn't one of them!

You mention it's pertitent to tomorrows puzzle so is that where you saw it and, if so, how?

In short, I can't solve the clue and don't know what crossword it's in, or how it relates to a future puzzle (Prize?)...

... but, other than that, everything's hunky dory 😂

Sorry Bren, I didn’t intend to confuse!

Boatman posted on X that he was setting today’s puzzle and gave this clue. I wasn’t expecting it to be a clue from the puzzle as that would have been a spoiler. I suspect it’s a clue that didn’t make it into the final version of the puzzle.

(Oh, and the boxes have telephones in them…)

Aahh, Sir Giles:-)

Funny you should mention that the the small boxes have telephones in them - with your seeming knowledge of the future I was sorely tempted to ask if you are really Billy Piper! (That should cause some confusion 😀)

I had exactly the same experience as brendan@2.

Depends on UK GK unknown to me. Wouldn't have solved it in a puzzle without having crossers.
