You might remember me complaining a few days ago about the amount of whiskey that people in the books I've been reading were drinking. Well, the one I've just started has a journalist in Dublin drinking whisky! Do these people not realise there's a difference!

Surely one may drink either whisky or whiskey whether in Dublin, Mumbai or Timbuktu?

But is it likely that an Irish journalist in Dublin will be drinking Scotch?

To be fair, one of the "English whiskeys" I came across did actually specify Jameson's.
