Hello again, everyone.

Please can anyone help with these?

36d: Theatre-goer's box containing old appley fruit seemed weighty (6,5)
I have L?O?E?/L?R?E. I think all those letters are correct, but I can't make anything of them.

1d: Policeman delayed collecting guilty American's print (11)
I'm pretty sure it's COPPERPLATE (= print, or possibly American's print). Policeman = COPPER; delayed = LATE; but why should the extra P mean guilty? Am I missing something obvious?

36 looks like LOOMED LARGE from the letters and definition. I'll work on the parsing!

Well done candledave. I wouldn't have seen LOGE for the box.

56 Across - "Head of maintenance one calls getting stuck in the bog"
(6) M-R--- (Is this MORASS?)
44 Down - "Musician's fairly slowly cycling after Italian poet" (7)
D-N-E--

19 Polyemma, form of debate. Poly, old educational institution, last letter of Trial and Emma, novel.

56 Miring, getting stuck in a bog. M(aintenance) I, one. Ring.

44 Dantean, like/after Dante, the poet. Andante would be the 'musician's fairly slowly', a term in music, cycling = move along a couple of letters

Thanks, Malone - I couldn't understand the "cycling" bit!
The answer to the form of debate, with "emma" added in, is POLYLEMMA, a word I've never heard of!
