All done, but isn't there an error in 2d as far as the third letter of the abbreviation is concerned?

Chambers gives:

DIng abbrev Doctor Ingeniariae (Latin), Doctor of Engineering

Another thoroughly enjoyable EV. I don't think that the series always receives its due praise. There have been some belters so far this year.

Lest we forget, it has been threatened with extinction a couple of times in recent times. Fingers crossed here!!

Another enjoyable and informative puzzle. I'd forgotten the actual names. As Bobbycollins says, EV doesn't get the recognition it deserves and often seems to be in the shadow of other barred crosswords. I'm always vigilant to see if the series is going to be threatened with the chop again. It is to be hoped that the representations made by everybody on the two occasions it has been so threatened will give those at The Sunday Telegraph pause for thought.

Catching up after some time away in Berlin with my daughter and grandson. I agree it was an interesting challenge. All done and the aliases highlighted but 33 is eluding me. I have C?DT?A for the mutilated answer and know that a single E is omitted. I could make it work if the T was an N but that would throw out my entry for 24. Any help to scratch this itch gratefully received!
