More likely gentle giant, I’d have thought. Man = gent + anagram of “a tingle”

Hi NCW. The lads here have given it (I generally only give hints).

I imaging the lads at Viz were thinking of Giant Haystacks when they came up with the term 'Gentle Giant' (we have a term here to describe a large fella - “looks like he’d walk away from a big one!”).

raffles: I prefer to give hints, but Private Eye and Viz threads are rare places on the forum where posts with solution are common, sometimes seemingly expected.

Geeker - granted, but it’s never too late to bring the Viz and the Eye into the mainstream. I find the wrong answers sometimes more interesting than the right ones. In fact I’d like to know what NInja had initially for 13d, to give him L instead of T in GENTLE?

I picked up my copy this afternoon and my LOI was 23d - Musical girl underneath flautist, urinating initially (5) and am pleased with the new word I’ve learned!

Contenders for COI:
15a - Contralto, say, catches second of boobs in clamp (5)
18a - Dictatorial dick's botty burp (5)
And of course the excellent RESONANT, from earlier.

Late reply from me, Quisling but I was quite proud to solve that one unaided!
