I feel underwhelmed by this as I have a full grid with MARK appropriately involved, but not a scooby-doo as to what the challenge is nor who posed it. Normally you cannot successfully complete a listener without a full understanding of the theme, and that appears not to be the case in this instance.

Now got the challenge and the puzzles subject. One pesky misprint to spot though.

All done. Somewhat underwhelming. The only outstanding query is that I can't see the wordplay in the first clue.

Thank you Sonofrover1, I see the MARK now but still not really sure what role it plays in the puzzle.

There are only 2 words that fit the letter pattern, sans unch letter, in the lower unclued and only one of them is connected with the top one, so if the point was just to give us the unclued letters, then it seems unnecessary - I feel like I'm still missing something 🤔

Dint think you are Brendan. Just a bit of a weird one, as others have said. I too completed it without knowing the theme, then figured it out. Also confused by MARK for a while.

One loose end for me - only have 14 misprints. I am one short for the letter that appears 3 times in the phrase. I have it replacing an o and a t in fairly central (as presented) clues. Any hints as to where the third one is?

And as usual, have spotted it a minute after posting.
