Dicky = Poor in quality or condition. I have a heart problem which is frequently referred to as a "Dicky ticker"

Hi all, I'm stuck on
10a Bill grabs tit roughly (very top area) (5)
and
2d Paid player to introduce Conservative mail shot for broadcast (8)

Hints preferred to actual answers if possible. Many thanks!

The 'bill' is the common two letters in crosswords, the word 'roughly' indicates an anagram of a word in the clue, which goes inside that. The answer is the 'very top area'...

2 S A paid plater+a letter from 'to introduce Conservative' and ' shot = an anagram' of a word in the clue. The definition is broadcast, read out etc...

Thanks Malone that's so helpful; got them now.

For 10a, I thought it must be what you said, but I couldn't get Ad out of my head for Bill, so of course it didn't work. Also, I was fixated on 'very top area' relating to the top of a mountain, as in apex or something like that!

Finished crossword but, as so often, just one I can't parse:
26a Hardliner very full of gall. (5)
Have N -R - E and an answer which is a synonym of 'gall' - as in cheek.
Can account for 'very' but not hardliner. Please help!

Lastclue, it's always good to give the clue - then those without a copy can help.

Em = 'em, the way common/less polite people would say Them.

Thanks Tyke 51 and Lastclue. Why didn't I see that!

Re 14a - for em... think 'em = them in common parlance
