This video may be NSFW, and it sends the bad taste meter to 11, but if that doesn't deter you it might be amusing...

While we're on that subject...
The great Hans Niemann kicking butt and taking names.
Annihilated a field of strong GMs scoring 8 out of 9, 3(!) points clear of the pack. And his round 8 draw was a Berlin 14-move special which served to clinch 1st place.

Several 225 commentators suggesting this wasn’t a fair level of GK, and perhaps that the snooker player of the same name is better known. Even the blogger didn’t seem too sure.

I recall another clue somewhere (posted by someone else upthread iirc) using the same champion.

I guessed the solution quickly based on defn,. but discarded it until the chessplayer finally came to mind several minutes later.

In the "fair but difficult GK" category IMO. Unfair would be, say, using a "FIDE knockout" champion like Khalifman, Kasimdzhanov or Ponomariov. 🤣

Geeker, well remembered. In fact it was Picaroon again back in June…

I must have remembered that previous clue, because I recognized the name, but I don't follow chess. More likely to know that than a snooker player though, but as you know I'm not British.

From Elgar's Xmas Double Toughie:

Film day: champion on board having enjoyable time squeezing into slipper (19, 4 words)

"Film" is the def and it's missing its first word; the rest is wordplay for the last 4 words of the film.
