23a ChrisE. I must have 26a wrong as well if 19 is an anagram of the word I assume it is! Can't say I'm enjoying this at all, knowing very little about the theme.

Rogissimo: Neither of the hints given takes me anywhere near solving 3 dn. What's the significance of "last letters"?

3d first 2 letters are obvious initials. I'm not happy with "rumours" less W for the rest.

3: defn. "with multiple notes" (plural noun), parses as 1 ("Conservative"), 1 ("leader of House"), 4 ("rumours wife's left"). Solution is thematic.

Finished, thanks to hints on here about things like 11 and 20 which I'd not heard of.

In 1, is the definition "Perhaps 4 or 6"? If so, what has that to do with the answer?

Hello All. I’m a bit confused by a few clues - mostly top left of grid. Would love a quiet hint for either 8a (is it “that woman” ie the politician who shall not be named?!) or 10a, and I don’t get 11 despite having quite a few letters, what does Italy have to do with it? Thanks!

And as soon as I posted I got 8 and 10! Can’t parse 1D and still don’t get 11!

1d definition is a sporting reference. “Perhaps” is technically correct
