No interactive version of this Bank Holiday jigsaw today. I'm away so not sure if I'll get access to a printer or a newsagent so I shall wish you all good luck, happy solving and a great Bank Holiday weekend.

Thanks Rocky, you too.

Question for anyone who is attempting this… my reading of the preamble is that A-M (theme) + N-Z (non-theme) go in one grid and N-Z (theme) + A-M (non-theme) in the other. Is that correct?

Hi Jono

I think you are right on the themed clues, but I read it as the non-themed clues going anywhere… but who knows?!

I agree with Teacher.
With a Maskerade, I always write the answers on a sheet of paper.
Then, once I have twigged what the theme is, I will group them and place the A-M (themed) on one grid and N-Z (theme) on the other grid.
Then place the non-themed wherever they fit.
Hope this is correct, but time will tell

If I wanted to do a puzzle like this I'd choose the "Genius". Very disappointed!

I just realised that the grids are different so the 13s can only fit in one of them.

The good news is that once you get a couple the theme is easy to spot!

Both correctly completed grids will contain one of each of the A to Z
solutions. With the themed solutions, A to M should be in one grid and N to Z in the other. (rubrics)
This means that the A-M themes must go with the N-Z unthemed. and vice versa.
I think I'll pass though.

Got quite a few but still not seeing a theme, unless it involves B(1) and C(1)
