Theme-wise, perhaps three spicy condiments in one setting is sufficient. I'm yet to be convinced of the cleverness of 13.

I've only just started, so I've not read the comments yet. However I was a bit cross - the first three clues were write-ins, but the third of those turns out to be wrong!
I thought PICK OF THE BUNCH was a great clue for 10,11.

Definitely easier than usual. Had a bit of an Everyman feel about it. But some fun clues. I rattled through this then got held up for some time in the SW. I also still can't parse 13d.

FOI 8a LOI 21d

COD for me a tie between too similar clues 19d and 23a

Thanks Philistine for an enjoyable prize

Good fun and not too tricky I thought. Enjoyed 9a. 7d could be Everyman. Had the wrong last three letters for 13d at first but when the penny dropped realised “as nuns” is clever, it reminded me of something similar which came up a year or so ago, but I won’t state it to avoid any spoiler.

Re 13d, if you can spot the two components of the wordplay, think about where one is in relation to the other …

I thought 13d was very clever once Geeker corrected my erroneous initial parsing.

I found the clue 13d reminded me of and to my surprise it was also by Philistine, but back in 2014, how time flies!

i agree that it was easier than usual, but lots of fun clues. i loved 23a!

i think my incorrect answer for 10,11 (see post 12) is the commoner expression.
