Home is a two letter part of the wordplay.

Tiger is an example of the first three letters.

A very enjoyable puzzle, with lots of 17a clues and an intereting versatile theme. I'm feeling very sluggish about the SE corner, I just can't see 22d, 23d and 29a- is 29 an anagram? Any hints gratefully received but I know I'm late to the game!
FOI 1d, COD so far 19d

Thanks Philistine for an excellent puzzle and thanks to all the forum helpers and chatters

Hi Luko,

22d - 2 letter "essentially scroungers" = 5 letter "artist" (a specific one) reversed/rising and minus it's last letter/mostly - definition is "like Beaujolais Nouveaux"

23d - A + homophone/reported of "indecent" - definition is "hint" (as a verb)

29a - Yes

Yes like lots on here I thought it was a very good one - some challenging clues (not helped by a bit of late Saturday night...) but got there in the end.

Favourite clue was 7 down, and I really enjoyed the unusual anagrinds (also a new word I've just learned!)

Off-topic, but Paul has a real cracker of a puzzle in the Wednesday Guardian (#28,712). Difficult, but a theme Brendan should enjoy.

Thanks Geeker, I really enjoyed that. My Dad was a drummer in various bands over the years and his absolute favourite was 13a:-)
