Hi PS,

I wouldn't be too disheartened about the Prize, I think most of us found it very difficult - fun though 😀

Strangely, I found this a little easier than usual, but perhaps that's because anything seems easy after the Prize this week. My COD would have to be 4d, because it is such an elegant &lit that conveys all you need to know about the subject.

rainman, I find 4 a truly brilliant clue on several levels, my COD as mentioned above. Fun subtlety: the solution is perhaps best known for a notoriously [last 2 words of clue]!

I agree. The last two words add a touch of genius to the clue. And it’s still troublesome today.

Perhaps the Russian pairing are the intended connection this week. I can’t see anything else.

Definitely harder for me this week. Still struggling with the SW half, so I may put it down, have a coffee and come back in a bit.

Easier than last week imo. 1a was new to me. 4 was an excellent clue agree. Last 2 in 7 and 12a which I can't parse.

I haven't done very much yet, but it looks like Everyman has his ballet dancers mixed up!

I found this tough. I’ve got 18D left: I have D?T?/ B?Y. Is the definition covered in hair or steady on. I haven’t parsed 20A which supplies the T nor 7D like several others but it has to be the biochemical surely!

Nikos, the key to 12a is the penultimate letter and for 7d consider each word of American Navy Seals independently
