Hi davel
The drink is better than it might sound, particularly if the wine isn't very nice. If the wine has bubbles, "Royale" is added to the name.

Hi chrise. I genuinely lolled at particularly if the wine isn’t very nice. You’re not really selling it to me I’m afraid! 😁 But maybe I’ll give the Royale version a try one day. All the best, and thanks again

Yes, that didn't read as I meant it. What I meant was adding the Cassis can conceal the fact that the wine is less than pleasant!

Despite the help given on this site, I'm still struggling with two clues.

I cannot for the life of me see how 13 does parses and suspect I have the answer wrong: if it a form of theft? Any hints welcome here.

Similarly 12 across - again I have an answer which I think may be wrong.

I know Paul has many fans but I wish I felt more certain about my solutions.

Thanks to all

12a - definition is the last word, sounds like a word for the second word. This one held me up for ages!
13d - definition is first word. See jazzgirl’s post number 24

Thanks davel and jazzgirl.

12 across is a clever clue but I do think the definition in 13d is poor. No matter,
