Thanks Syzygy!
This cheers me in lockdown.
Have done this every month for nearly three years. Much appreciated.

Thanks, syzzie. Great fun, although I believe there's a mistake in 14d, an extra S in the fodder where another C is needed. Am I wrong?

It looks like another alternate spelling.

I thought the same thing, aristo. I couldn’t find an alternate spelling anywhere and he typically alerts to them in the preamble.

His name is Francis. I think this is just a mistake. No one would ever spell it Fransis. Could there possibly be a mistake in Wikipedia too? :)

Thanks syzygy and sunray, regardless of 14d I thought it was a bit lack-lustre but they can't all be beezers.

Agreed, ginge. Too many easy anagrams in the main clues. I did like most of the cluing in the "Extra Clues" though, and I liked the pun in 20d.

Must be easier than usual as I have finished now, without help except from anagram solvers. I enjoyed it very much thanks.
