unclued

I seem to have two possible answers for the unclued light 44ac. One is a well known two word phrase and the other is a hyphenated archaic item.

I agree that Chambers provides 2 possibilities. I opted for the well known one as I suspect was intended. (I have not possed in ages.)

There are also two alternatives at 19D with a less clear selection! Bit unsatisfactory?

I agree - it is unsatisfactory, particularly since none of the dictionaries I've consulted gives either of the alternatives.

I always find clues like 36dn confusing. Is the answer bloom or broom?

Agreed about 19. I would go for wall lights.

Unclued, I'm pretty certain that 36d is BROOM. I too went with the W option at 19d

I agree Will. Broom it is but. I really don’t like this clue! I do wonder how many crosswords in this series are test solved before publication. It would also help if a standard dictionary (Chambers?) was used which could eliminate many of the ambiguities.

I have possible solutions for all of the unclued, but fail to see a connection/distinctive feature between any of them! Am I missing something obvious?
