I enjoyed this today after yesterday's torturous and unfinished effort . But I agree about the parsing and often had to just search out the answer. Chrise, with you on 3d and no, didn't build from parts. And Phil I did the same via Google for the queen - if it's not a coincidence that would be my COD. FOI 6a - because I blindly missed the anagrind in 1a for ages. LOI 25a.

I was struggling on 16 across, where I had A ? ? ? R ? A.

So I Googled songs by Queen and sure enough one of them is ARBORIA (which I had never heard of).

I couldn't do the parsing, but I knew it was the right answer, and in it went.

So that threw me off for quite a while!
