Lumen@11 If you have the anagram letters and put them into the Chambers app it returns two possible old spelling variants of a traditional harvesting tool. I didn't do this and looked up one of them in Chambers and went 'Aha!' and entered it.
It became clear that this meant there were 2 clashes in it and it didn't fit the clue perfectly.

Thanks, Lumen. I hoped my 'variations' post would have helped with 4, but maybe it didn't! Glad you've now got them all sorted.

Lumen, my pleasure. If you haven't got 6d yet, the circus is not contemporary...think Spartacus!

I didn’t get it, no. I really don’t know of any ‘circus vehicles’ or any famous rocks with three letters. So admit defeat.

Lumen, think about 'The Rock of ......' It has monkeys on it and is frequently referred to by a 3 letter abbreviation. The vehicle was horse drawn and very few of us will have heard of it.

That was one short Rock I considered. The other was Hud.
I actually looked up Duha, but not the other! Thinking, if that is a word, I'd know it. Wrong!
