Congratulations Mattrom
Cheers Jono

I don't mind the different tenses of given words but two separate words was a bridge too far, maybe like what's already been mentioned the WPR is the place for innovation

Hi Jono - I`m still a newbie on the forum but I think this is how the competitions came to be.

From the `Clueless` number 488 it seems it`s been going approx 9 years - `Peer Review` numbered 451 must have started about 6 months later.

Both competitions then have a long history as you can glean from Mattrom`s long list of words used so far.

When lockdown started in March some of us thought a 3rd weekly competition might be a good idea ... hence weekend PR.

I hope this explains how things have evolved - please don`t take this as criticism in any way and I hope you continue to enjoy taking part.

Congrats Mattrom and thanks for hosting Jono.
I couldn't manage the different format, but as some had a go, there was no harm in trying it out.
However, it does make judging difficult and I would prefer to go back to the original on a Thursday.

If you look into search you will find that the first WPR was in May 2014.
I was the first to offer a clue!
I think that it came to a halt as there was little support due to weekend commitments.
However, with lockdown we all had more time, and couldn't spend weekends away, so it started up again.
I know this is unnecessary information but I've got a bit of spare time on my hands at the moment. I was gardening and the rain came down!

Apologies Tyke51. I could possibly have made you 10 years older, or maybe younger depending on what the 51 stands for!

Rossim ... wish I was 41! I was born in 1951 - so I`m a very young looking 69.

I think Chrise mentioned there had been a WPR some years ago. I started the new lockdown version with a Weekend Clueless, mainly because I worried that people might not have time to vote - I`m pleased it`s now in PR format as I think its a better competition. I too have been shower dodging all day - like our cricketers!
