Is a clue where the definition has the same first four letters as the answer and shares the same Latin root verb really acceptable? I know the judge’s decision is final and it’s only informal, etc, but I’m a little surprised, even if testimonial is used in a different sense in the clue.
Thanks Richard and thanks for your comment in the summary. Congratulations to Jafo though, I really liked your other clue @7 too (if this was a Peer Review it would have got my vote so well deserved for 2 good clues!).
Well done jafo, a good clue. I enjoyed reading them all.
Thanks for the prize RichardK (although I didn't enter!)
I loved the film and for anyone who doesn't know it was based on a book by Vera Britten, mother of Shirley Williams.
