I can't parse one last clue
21d Beware sailors' den _A_E_N

I've guessed CAVERN from 'den' as the definition. With sailors = R(oyal) N(avy). But can't figure how he gets cave from beware.

Have I got something wrong here?

Hi cerv

Cave is Latin for 'beware'

https://www.latin-is-simple.com/en/vocabulary/phrase/276/

For Eg. Cave canem (means 'beware of the dog')

thanks!

a bit unfair to drop into foreign languages without any indicator in the clue isn't it?
