Came to this late on but have progressed quite well so far. However I have now hit a brick wall and although I know how thematic answers are entered I cannot find the letter pairs associated with the answer 'First'. I have the following letters available , E,J,M.R,X and Y. Also I would appreciate help with 29D. Thanks in anticipation.

29 - the def is 'Not as good' - 'without' = WO (remove 'o' from the flower).
