Still stuck on this one. I can’t find a word to fit 32a. Just a hint please.

As before there’s either a missing or extra letter in wordplay.

Cloverjo, I've no longer got my copy, but I'm almost certain I didn't have a G in the middle! I had the usual short word meaning 'Once again' before a word meaning 'digests' - and that was something I hadn't known before. I got it from working my way through Chambers, with my alternative to the G + O?ES.

I can't remember the missing/extra letter stuff - sorry.

Rampant Venetian magistrate interrupted by cold old-timers oath.

I thought it was reversal of DOGE with C being the extra letter and EGOD the old oath.
